What is ModelICAO?

Model ICAO is an international academic simulation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), bringing together university students from around the world at ICAO Headquarters in Montreal.

 

Participants represent Member States and international stakeholders, engage in multilateral negotiations, and develop practical skills in diplomacy, international aviation governance, and consensus-building.

Diplomatic Luncheon with State Representatives​

In 2025, ModelICAO organized an exclusive luncheon bringing together student participants and representatives of ICAO Council Member States. This unique opportunity for direct dialogue will be offered again in 2026, with the support of the European Union.

Civil Aviation Career Fair

ModelICAO participants benefit from exclusive access to a civil aviation career fair, bringing together leading institutions and organizations in the sector.

the 2025 edition included representatives from Airbus, ICAO, MRIF, and other private and public institutions.
This initiative will be renewed in 2026.

Professional Networking Workshop (New in 2026)

In 2026, ModelICAO will introduce a dedicated professional networking workshop, designed to provide practical guidance on building meaningful professional connections. 

The workshop will be led by Alexandre Perron, Vice President, Partnerships and Strategic Development, CORIM (Montreal Council on Foreign Relations).

Who is it for?

Model ICAO is open to university students from all disciplines, including law, international relations, political science, aviation management, engineering, and related fields.

No prior experience with ICAO is required. Participants are selected based on motivation, academic interest, and their willingness to engage in international dialogue.
